Stop Defects Before They Are Mass-Produced
A Pre-Shipment Inspection catches defects at the end of the line—but by then, the factory has already manufactured the entire order. Reworking, sorting, or replacing 100% of a finished order is expensive, delays your shipment, and damages your relationship with your supplier.
A During Production Inspection (often called an Inline or DUPRO inspection) happens when your order is 10% to 30% complete. It gives you a real-time snapshot of the factory’s quality control, allowing you to identify early defects, correct factory processes, and ensure the remaining 70% of production stays on track.
How We Conduct a During Production Inspection
Our inspectors visit the factory floor while the production line is actively running. Using ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2008 sampling standards, we pull random samples from the completed and in-progress units.
We evaluate three critical areas:
PROCESS CONTROL
Are the factory workers following the correct Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)? Are the machines calibrated?
EARLY DEFECT DETECTION
We classify findings into Critical, Major, and Minor defects. If we see a pattern of major defects, we alert you immediately so you can instruct the factory to fix the issue.
MATERIAL VERIFICATION
We verify that the raw materials and components (fabric, trims, hardware) being used match your approved specifications.

During Production Inspection FAQs
When should I book a During Production Inspection?
The ideal time is when the factory has completed 10% to 30% of the total order. This gives the inspector enough finished units to sample, but leaves enough time to correct any defects before mass production continues.
How is this different from a Pre-Shipment Inspection?
A DPI happens early to fix the process, while a PSI happens at the very end to check the final packed goods. A DPI saves you from costly rework, while a PSI ensures you don’t pay for bad goods.
What happens if the inspector finds a major defect during DPI?
We notify you immediately (usually via WhatsApp or email with photos) so you can instruct the factory to stop the line, fix the machinery or process, and sort out the defective units before proceeding.
How many inspections do I need for one order?
It depends on the factory’s track record and the complexity of the product. For new suppliers, we recommend 1 DPI (at 20% production) and 1 PSI (at 100% production). For trusted suppliers, a PSI alone is often sufficient
